| Job Title: Senior Lecturer in Geoinformatics |
| Description |
|
The School of Conservation Sciences
wishes to strengthen its research capacity in the area of
Geoinformatics. The Centre for Geoinformatics will provide focus for
its activities that combine Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Earth
(planetary) Observation (EO), spatial statistics and numerical
modelling.
Activities in these fields cut right across both the School and
Bournemouth University as a whole, and there is real potential for
building on existing activity and developing new research themes in
niche areas. The centre will ensure a community of practice in
Geoinformatics-related fields at BU to create and sustain innovative
approaches to both research projects and enterprise activities.
We are looking to create a strong focused multidisciplinary team
able to make collective bids for research and enterprise income both in
the field of Geoinformatics and in conjunction with other areas of
research strength within the School, which include glacial &
Quaternary geology, coastal environments, conservation ecology and
marine archaeology. Applicants should have a proven track record in
research and income generation.
You will enhance teaching, research and enterprise activity in the
area of Geoinformatics. In addition you will make a significant
contribution to the research/enterprise agendas of the School of
Conservation Sciences. Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact
the Dean of Conservation Sciences, Dr Brian Astin on 01202 965458, to discuss their application and if desired to arrange an informal visit prior to making an application. |
