Minimum Requirements : URS is currently recruiting a Senior/Principal Hydrologist to be based in Birmingham, covering the West Midlands area.

Key requirements include a relevant degree, demonstratable knowledge, skills and experience required in the hydrology field, including risk analysis with a background in river engineering, floodplain management planning and risk management.

You should have experience required in river and floodplain modelling, flood mapping, floodplain damage and risk assessment, cost-benefit analysis, GIS mapping and analysis, and quantitative risk management - with well developed project management skills and developing or developed people management skills.
Job Description : The role will involve the analysis of field and analytical data and the preparation of accurate, concise reports and hydrological input to pre-planning work in the Birmingham and other offices.

You will project manage flood risk assessments using appropriate software.

You will also play a key role in the development of a strategy for the development of a flood risk business in Birmingham, in conjunction with the Service Line leader for Water Management in Bedford and the Business Development Manager in Birmingham.
