ASP.net, .Net, VB, Visual Basic, ADO, SQL, Active X, Windows, GUI, Spatial Data, GIS

Software Developer required with proven experience in ASP.net, VB and .net to develop and maintain small to medium scale systems in support of technology transfer.

As well as experience in ASP.net, VB and .Net you should also have experience in ADO and SQL. If you possess experience with Active X or Windows then this would be highly beneficial. Experience of working with graphical user interfaces (GUI) is a must.

You will be responsible for the delivery of software services, working closely with the development team, working on software development projects through the full life cycle, to help in the design and support of existing systems, and to produce clear reports on completed work. You will ideally have experience of GUI as you will be required to assist in the design and implementation of user interfaces. Working closely within a team, you will be required to provide technical advice to other internal departments where you are able too, otherwise you would need to escalate any technical queries to a more senior member of the team.

You will possess experience in the development of relational databases, and have proven experience in the design of software architecture. As mentioned you will have experience using object orientated design tools including ASP.net, .Net and VB.net. Ideally you will be qualified to degree level in either a mathematical, scientific or computer related discipline, if you have a qualification which is equivalent then this will be considered.

If you have experience with spatial data, system analyst, web based technologies or GIS then this would be of advantage but not essential.

You will have a proactive approach to you work, and have the ability to work to tight deadlines when working on specific projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must, and you will have the ability to work well as part of a team as well as an individual.

The role is based out of the West Midlands and is commutable from Walsall, Dudley, West Bromwich, Oldbury, Wolverhampton and potentially Birmingham. The position may involve travel at times; therefore you must hold a full UK Driving Licence.
