This is an exciting opportunity to work in the GIS Team within the Planning & Transportation Department who are responsible for the support and development of a wide range of GIS applications used throughout the Department.
You will be responsible for the support, development and maintenance of the Department’s GIS and Highways Management System, using ESRI’s ArcGIS tools and other associated software. You will specialise in one or more of the following: system/application development and support using ArcGIS, management of spatial databases using ArcSDE, management of GIS web applications using ArcIMS, Oracle database management.
Ideally you will be qualified to at least HNC/HND level in computing or another relevant technical subject, and/or have at least 2 years demonstrable experience in a similar role. However we would like to hear from you if you are looking to develop your skills in this area.
You will also need to be a good communicator, both orally and in writing, be customer focused and able to work to tight timescales. These are challenging roles and will provide you with ample personal development opportunities for the right candidates. To this end, training will be provided to assist in achieving team and Departmental business objectives in this area.
