Implementation Consultant with previous client facing and project management experience required for global Software and IT Solutions Provider. Preference will be given to candidates who have specific police control room domain knowledge, preferably with GIS (Graphical Information System). It's important to have an understanding of what occurs within a police control room, around emergency call taking, incident handling and resource tracking and despatch etc. Whilst the job will require a technical grounding to be able to quickly learn how to install and configure the specialist software, the real skill is in understanding how the solution works within the context of the control room. So even if there you have no GIS experience, anyone with a police domain background, particularly the operations that go on within the control room would be a good candidate.
You will be delivering consultancy and training to install, configure and train across a portfolio of solutions to a client base across the UK. You will need flexibility to travel to client location. You will have full project lifecycle experience, ideally formal project management training and proven experience of delivering projects on time and on budget coupled with technical experience of RDBMS (oracle and /or SQL Server), Unix and/or Linux. Proficient working with, and installing software on to, various hardware platforms. You will provide consultancy to install and configure the solution onto customers chosen infrastructure/hardware; Lead workshops to capture business process requirements ; Lead workshops to configure system to meet business processes; Lead and deliver technical and end user training workshops/courses; Run acceptance testing of the system; Maintain accurate records of customer project work, sufficient to allow seamless handovers to support .
