Electrical Designer - Secondary Design, Glasgow

Our client is a global management, engineering and development consultancy.

Possessing the latest knowledge in AIS and GIS substation design, their experienced engineers provide exceptional services in substation planning, consent and engineering and the supervision of installation and commissioning.

Their teams can provide full secondary system design for new substations and upgrades to existing schemes.

Their recent experience in the UK, Europe and the Middle East includes: Working with the UK transmission network owner, National Grid, on its Electricity Alliances; A framework agreement with a major national network (up to 380kV) covering the detailed engineering and project management for overhead line and substation projects; Constructing nine new indoor GIS substations and extending an existing 220kV substation in the Middle East.

They offer complete design services including:

- Design checking
- Detailed construction planning, including outage planning
- Detailed design and engineering of power systems, including civil works
- Earthing calculations
- Feasibility and technical studies
- Outline system design
- Overall project management leading up to commissioning and handover to the client
- Plant selection
- Site supervision of installation (including site safety)
- Studies and recommendations for power factor control
